How Long Do Hair Fibers Last?

This post was originally published on September 17, 2019.

Toppik Hair Building Fibers are an amazing solution for instantly creating the appearance of thicker, fuller hair. While they aren’t permanent hair fibers, they are long-lasting. If applied correctly, Toppik Hair Fibers will stay in the hair until you shampoo again.

However, we get a lot of questions about how long hair fibers last, so we asked these Toppik users to share their experiences with us. So if you’ve been wondering how long do hair fibers last, keep reading to find out how Toppik Fibers hold up in different everyday situations.

How Long Do Fibers Last On Hair?

Q: Do Toppik Fibers Last Through Weather Like Wind and Rain?

A: Wind is no match for Toppik Hair Building Fibers! Thanks to the famous Santa Ana winds, Southern California is notoriously windy in the winter. But Toppik user and Californian Thom hasn’t had any issue! “I’ve been in pretty strong winds… It doesn’t seem to affect it,” he told the Toppik team.

The same goes for rain. Toppik Hair Fibers are resistant to precipitation. “I’ve been in wind and in rain. Nothing has moved. It stays in your hair,” said Toppik user Linda. Steve Q. agreed: “I got caught in the rain a week or so ago, and it did not affect it whatsoever. It stayed natural looking and I was very pleased and surprised with the results. Reviewer Jamie had the same experience: “Hot weather, cold weather, rain, snow — it does not matter.”

Q: Do Toppik Fibers Last Overnight?

A: No time to apply Toppik Hair Building Fibers in the morning? Not a problem. Toppik Fibers will stay in your hair overnight with only a minimal need for touch-ups in the morning. “If I use it today, and I don’t wash my hair until two days later, it stays in,” said Thom. He added, “Normally, whatever I have in stays from shower to shower.”

Toppik user Belle told us, “I was surprised when I woke up the next day that I still had hair.” Adam agreed, “Unless you wash your hair every day, it will totally stay in.”

Q: Will Toppik Fibers Get On My Pillow?

A: If you plan to wear Fibers overnight, will they get on your pillow? That hasn’t been the experience for these Toppik users, who were able to sleep in Toppik Fibers without getting them on their bedding.

“I was trying to think about would it be a problem if Toppik stayed in overnight and would it get everywhere? And I slept with it fully in my hair. Nothing on the pillow,” said Bobak.

Adam told us, “I went to the bed and I checked the pillow, there was nothing on the pillow.”

Q: Will Toppik Fibers Get on My Clothes?

A: Many people are concerned that Toppik Fibers are messy, and will fall onto your face and clothing during application and throughout the day. Not so! These Toppik users haven’t had any issues with getting Fibers on their clothes.

“It doesn’t come out on your clothes, it doesn’t get on your pillow. It stays in until you wash your hair,” Adriana told us. Belle agreed, “And it doesn’t get all over your face. It doesn’t get on your clothes. It’s not on my pillows.”

Q: Does Toppik Run When Sweating?

A: Another commonly asked question about Toppik Fibers is whether or not they will sweat out during exercise. These Toppik users have worn Fibers through all sorts of exercise, and haven’t had any issues.

Bobak told us, “I always thought that because I’m a big sweater that Toppik might come out running down my face, but [that’s] never the issue. I always even touch my sweat and it’s just water. It’s not like dark or it’s not colored or anything. No problems at all.”

Diane had a similar experience when she went line dancing with her husband: “…I had my cowboy hat on and I was sweating. I took my cowboy hat off. And my Toppik was still in place. And my hair looked marvelous.”

Reviewer Lance agrees: “After sweating all night under stage lighting, it’s still holding firm the afternoon of the next day.”

A frequent exerciser, Keilan worried that Toppik wouldn’t last through his workout. “I thought if I worked out, it would bleed or run after a while. …I can go into the gym confidently without a hat and without worrying about going in there with a full head of hair and coming out with balding spots.”

I Must say this is a magnificent product, you have to learn the stragety to apply it once you Master that and add the holding spray its like magic.i have started using this product one month ago and if I choose not to wash my hair that is already short I could go like three days with one application and don’t have to do no touch ups,my friends are still amazed by how long it last before you wash your hair and reapply it .I say five stars because I’m happy and satisfied

I have used the hairfibers every day In almost 1 year now. Here is what you should expect:
You have to apply the fibers everyday. I use it In the morning, wash out before going to bed, reapply In the next morning. If you do not wash it out, it will be on your pillow and sheets. You have to reapply anyway. If you style your hair with wax etc, it will be impossible with the fiber in from the day before. The fibers will stick all over your hands, and wax wont apply. So. Use it every day and wash it out. Simple.
Also when you use it, you have to style the hair before you use fibers. If you put fibers Into hair without wax Or without spraying something to it, it will blow out In wind Or rain.
I use wax only, and it works all way In Wind and rain also. But not heavy rain.
Heavy rain will make fibers slide down ur chin. Not so cool.

A lot of lies in here. Toppik hair fibers leave residue all over pillows and sheets. They also deposit all over the bathroom sink, floors and walls and are a pain to clean up. It tracks onto rugs if it is on the floor. Ruins everything!

    1. Hi Sue, We’re really sorry that you didn’t have a good experience with Fibers. Toppik Fibers are designed to cling to hair strands through a static charge and stay put until you wash them out. But of course, we know they’re tiny fibers and users’ experiences can vary! So here are a few tips to help give you a neater application: 1) Try adding the Toppik Spray Applicator attachment to more precisely target the Fibers only where you need them. 2) After applying, finish with Toppik FiberHold Spray to strengthen the magnetic bond and help lock Fibers in place. 3) To avoid using excess, apply Fibers a little at a time, blending with your fingers as you go. Then add a little more as needed until you achieve your desired thickness and coverage. If you have any other problems or questions about Toppik, please leave another comment here, or contact our hair care specialists at support@toppik.com or 1-800-293-3781. Thank you! -Emily, Toppik Hair Care Team

Well it’s 50/50.. they didn’t totally lie in this article. I’ve had instances where I’ve never had a problem with the fibers getting all over the place and woke up the next day and was amazed and happy of course that I didn’t have to worry about my damn scalp and the stupid bald patch from stress probably but then I’ve had times when it’s just been way too friggin’ hot that putting the fiber in my hair was pointless because I was sweating it off and you could see some of it on my sideburns and hairline.. but it is what it is. Nothing’s perfect.. but at least the shit works and helps with my damn insecurity. I care way too much about my hair and my skin and thanks to the lovely ex wife she left me with nothing but stress and depression so now I gotta cover up my thinning hair the best way I can and this is the cheapest way and it’s not too much of a hassle! So it depends on the person but it works for me!

It does come off on pillows when you sleep and it will fall on your clothes and shoulders and arms when applying. I use it every day. And it won’t last to the next day. You will need to reapply. There is no way to get it out of your clothes unless you put the item thru the wash.

    They lie in this article.

My bottle was accidentally dropped in water and when I opened the bottle the powder was puffy and was in little bits. How do i fix it?

    1. Hi Abdul, Thanks for your message. Our best advice is to start over with a fresh bottle of Fibers. You could try to dry them out, but for the best-possible performance, we’d really recommend using a new one. If you have any other questions, please let us know.

Toppik is the best concealer on the market IMHO…..BUT, it may last through a rain shower or workout, but doesn’t look nearly as good once wet. IT also does come off on pillows….I have dark hair, and it can make a white pillowcase look “sooty” as the fibers come off. Bottom line, great product…I have used it for years… but the claims above are pretty bogus.

While Toppik does conceal thinning hair very well, if you have a BALD SPOT OR SPOTS, it will come off! There is nothing to hold on to! So in the wind, rain, sleeping, sweating, etc., The Toppik will come off completely bald areas in these conditions. Even if you use the spray.

  11. Phil Abuster

While Toppik looks pretty good, it is neither wind or rain resistant. And it comes off on your pillow. Toppik is a good product but it shouldn’t lie on its website. Bad business practice.

  12. all lies, it does come off on pillows and clothes and does not last until you shampoo again, don’t be fooled people, it does cover but noy as good as they are saying in this article. please don’t lie to these people who really need the vtruth.

  14. With havin so much content do you ever run into
any issues of plagorism or copyright infringement? My blog
has a lot of exclusive content I’ve either written myself
or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it
